Recession

For my career path, this time I chose criminal justice, as in police officer or any sort of law enforcement.
This first article from Socyberty, stated that security and law enforcement agencies will not ever decrease in the needs for their job. Everyone will still need some sort of security.

On the next article from squidoo.com, they state more about lawyers. More and more foreclosures are occuring, which will ultimately result in more sues. With more sues, more lawyers and court uses will be a lot higher, making the recession void to most criminal justice careers.

Get Paid!

This article is explaining the low-end jobs and their benefits. It explains how not everyone should try to skip the lower jobs. People think that these jobs are useless because you don't get rich off of them, but that is wrong.
This article shows how many different things you can learn from a bottom-rung job such as a fast-food restaurant. You learn the hard earnings of a dollar, and how to work hard. It teaches you the different ropes of a small industry that might help you out in the future. It also helps you realize what small skills you possess and which ones you don't.
It not only helps you build upon yourself and realize wht you are and aren't good at. It also helps you gain oppurtunities with bigger and better jobs for the future.

What are the advantages of a bottom rung job? Learning different things that can benefit you in the future.
What can be learned? the importance of leading and your basic working functions
Are there any negatives? The jobs do pay pretty low compared to what people want.
Do you or have you had a bottom rung job? Yes I do have a bottom rung job. Explain your experiences. I work at a lumber yard doing all the small, random stuff that no one else will do. It helps me learn the ropes of manually labor and such.

Are things going smoothly? yeah, the store is fun and easy.
Do you feel any frustrations? I have never felt any frustrations from the school store.
With What? N/A
what cany you or we do to make things run smoother? Explain! I don't really know what to do, maybe spread out more people in the classes or have more students work in the back. In my store, only me and Frank work, if Frank is gone then it's only me, and that's a lot of work for one person.

Journal on College

Reading this article has not really changed my outlook on a career choice. I think my career is highly needed, and would pay well.

I know this career path is right for me because it seems interesting to me.And this career path would never get boring since you do something different every day.

Career Assessment

It said I would be a college professor. Im an idealist. This is something close to what I'd want to do. I 'd want to do something with science and professors tend to teach science. I don't think I could stand the teaching aspect of being a professor, but everything else about a professor is ingeniously relative to my wants.
Research:
Generally needed is a master's degree after your high school diploma. A masters degree is six years of college. You don't need to go to any tradeschool or have any sort of certificates besides your teaching degree. For teaching full-time in science and arts, you need a PhD. A benefit of the job is the laid-back ness, a lot of vacation, and your ability to make your on curiculum, so teach however you want to as long as you follow the school board's guide lines. Genereally a full week is worked at 40 hours, and anything over would be docced as overtime.David Foster Wallace at Pomona and Joyce Carroll Oats at Princeton is a very reknown professor. Columbia: David Greene, the so-called "Next Einstein" of string-theory. Norman F. Ramsey won a noble prize for physics, he's from University of Michigan.

Explain soft skills: Soft skills, in my opinion, are socially-based skills used to bring up ones mood or to help motivate and teach.
I use soft skills in the store with the customers to make them feel comfortable.
I am best with negotiating, and providing services. I know this because those are the skills I tend to use the most.
I need to work on my self-awareness. I can work on it by just paying attention a lot more.

I am not really sure what career I want to have. Something to do with science, computers, or fun labor (construction). If I chose science I'd go for a botany, hordiculturist, or agricultural scientist. Computers I'd either be a programmer, or deal with network administration. I want to do these for the rest of my life because they interest me a great deal. You definitely need decision making skills, problem solving skills, and active listening to be able to succeed.

Journal 3

TDZ stands for Temperatue Dange Zone
The zone for TDZ is from 41 degrees F to 135 degrees F
It takes roughly 20-30 mins for bacteria to double.
Food should spend no more than 4 hours in TDZ
To wash your hands properly, use hot water and soap, then dry thoroughly.
Time-temperature abuse is when food isn't heated properly to kill micro-organisms, or it wasn't cooled properly.
Cross-contamination is when bacteria is spread from one object to another by touch. Cross-contamination can be prevented by always washing your hands and utencils, and never using the same utencil on something raw and on something cooked. Foods need to be stored a certain way in the fridge because it could cross-contaminate something if not packaged well enough.
We use items like dairy products, and meats that have a sell by date because they can go bad!

The skills I am using most is just memory. To remember where stuff goes and how much stuff is.
My second day went good. Nothing bad at all happened, and the hour pretty much flew by.
Things haven't gotten better or worse, because they never were bad or great to begin with.
I never operated the old store, so I don't really know the difference. But the store is ran way differently than my job, it's just more leanent and cooler people to work with.

I didn't get to run the store yet because I was absent.
Didn't have a role.
I would've been prepared.
I'm sure they were prepared.
I don't know what went well, I wasn't there.
I also don't know what didn't go well.
I don't know what to alter since I wasn't there.
I don't know the customers reactions.
I did not receive any feedback because I was not there.
